Highland Chief was a superb 20-1 winner for us on here yesterday. That’s made the meeting and put good money in the back pocket. I won’t be going mad now.

Highland Chief was hugely overpriced, the horse held group form, bred to stay, and was proven on softer ground. If trained by a more fashionable trainer he would have been half the odds.

Stradivarius was hugely impressive, possibly the best stayer we’ve seen and on a par with Yeats.

We were very happy with Vocatus debut for us yesterday, 3^rd at Newmarket. Vocatus ran as expected. He’s a middle-distance horse as we thought. Vocatus stayed on strongly after been outpaced from the word go.

I’ve had just the one bet at Ascot today and couple of quid at Lingfield tonight.
