Were off on a road trip this afternoon with two runners either side of the country.

Firstly Gran Maestro is having a spin on the flat as we can’t find any suitable hurdle races for him at the moment. Unfortunately the going at Chepstow has gone against us as Granny does prefer a sounder surface but we’ve missed a few engagements of late so we’re just going to take our chance.

The race looks ok but quite trappy, on old flat ratings Gran Maestro should have a shout whilst he seems in good form at home, we just hope he can handle the going.

Champion flat jockey Richard Hughes takes the ride, Mr Hughes is riding for his boss earlier at the meeting so we’ve booked the best available. It will be great for the owners of Gran Maestro to meet Richard and see him ride in our silks.

We then have Kenobe Star running at Chelsmford City in the very last race at 9:20, Chelsmford is over three hours from Chepstow so it’s going to be long day.

Kenobe Star was green as grass on debut as we knew he would be, he shows enough at home but is a big horse that will need plenty of time and is still quite weak. The main thing this evening is for Kenobe to enjoy the outing and hopefully keep taking small steps forward.
