Plenty of racing this afternoon, no jumps which is a shame but some big field handicaps on the flat that are worth watching.

Rushmore, who makes his debut in the 1:05 at Newbury is a horse I’ve had in my notebook for a while. This 2yo colt with a pedigree to die for, is held in some regard by the Andrew Balding yard and considered smart.

I've no idea if he’s fit and ready to go today but his work is above average. He’s a horse to keep an eye on moving forwards.

The John Smith’s Cup, 2:30 York is a super race and always takes plenty of winning.

Pivoine, loves it around here, ran twice won twice including winning this race last year. This will no doubt have been the target once again and he should run well at nice odds, 14-1 EW.

I couldn’t put you off Caradoc in the same race too. He was a big eyecatcher at Epsom and will be spot on for today. Caradoc has been well backed, 10-1 into 6-1 at time of writing.
