Mountain Rescue ran a grand race for us in the valuable Bunbury Cup at Newmarket on Saturday, finishing 8th beaten just 4 lengths.

As things turned out, we had no chance from our draw in stall 19. We we’re away from the pace whilst everything went to the right from the off, we were no man’s land. We didn’t have anything to give us a tow into the race and had to challenge wide and on our own. Mountain Rescue got to the fringe of the leaders but his effort getting there didn’t leave anything for the last few hundred yards. It was a very good effort considering.

Ilovemints ran well at Newton Abbot, finishing second. She beat all the fancied horses but a 33-1 shot with little form won the race.

Adams Park however won for us on just his second start at Stratford on Sunday. Adams Park learned plenty from his debut over hurdles and won quite nicely in the end. Adams Park is a stayer in the making and won’t be seen at his best until next season when running over 3 miles. We purchased him for juvenile hurdles and got the win so it’s a case of job done in that respect.

We have a runner at Uttoxeter today, Competition in the 3:20.

Competition won for us last weekend by 17 lengths. The form is perhaps not worth much as the odds-on favourite failed to run his race. This is a decent novice hurdle with two other last time out winners that achieved more. We’ll learn a lot more about Competition this afternoon and find out where we are with him.
