Kingsmere ran a cracker for us on Thursday, two out I thought the horse was going to land a nice bet as per last year but the John Ferguson runner spoiled the party. Kingsmere returned at 8-1 so we made a few quid on the EW part of the bet.

So much racing today it’s difficult to know where to start, the flat racing has yet to settle down whilst it always takes a month or so to work out how far forward each stable is. However two horses that should go well at Newbury, Mahsoob in the 1:15 priced at 3-1 & Romsdal 1:45 best price 15-8.

Mahsoob is very well regarded but has a rotten draw in stall 19, it could be race over before it gets started for this classy individual. Hopefully jockey Paul Hanagan can find a clear path and work his magic but the draw is stopping me having a fair bet. Whatever the result today put Mahsoob in the notebook as he’s smart.

Romsdal is the standout form horse whilst has race fitness on his side, he should go close for John Gosden.

Over at Ayr I like Rock The Kasbah in the 4:25. A smart novice that could be well in on handicap debut, the track should be ideal for this free going sort. It’s a competitive race but he can be backed EW at 4-1, not far off money back if only placed.
