The Gold Cup lived up to its reputation and turned into a classic, a frantic pace from start to finish, and a brilliant battle with Galopin De Champs fighting it out with Bravemansgame.

The favourite won and proved stamina was no doubt which it was never going to be. Galopin De Champs won like a champion and aged just seven, it’s hard to see him losing his crown anytime soon.

It was a good day on the punting front and a nice profit made over the week. Harrys Angel winning at 10-1, the last race on Thursday set things up for the final day with nothing to lose.

Lossiemouth, Sharjah EW, Galopin De Champs, Conflated EW, Imagine EW and then finally the Newcastle winner, Estidama who won easy as you like made it a fair four days.

It was hard work but came good in the end.

Good racing today with the Midlands National at Uttoxeter taking place. A day off this end after a busy week.
