We head to Huntingdon this afternoon with Audacious Plan who runs in the 4:50. Our sponsored jockey Charlie Hammond takes the ride.

Audacious Plan ran a very good race on debut for us 9 days ago at Uttoxeter. We bumped into a well handicapped horse on the day that carried 16lb less than AP. It was 30 lengths back to the 3rd place horse.

We run again quicker than we would like but we don’t have any real choice. Audacious Plan will go up the weights for his Uttoxeter efforts later this week. We have to hope the run doesn’t come too soon and Audacious Plan can put in another big effort in a short space of time.

Reckless Behavior is perhaps the one to beat, solid efforts in the past few months and today’s step up in trip should suit.

It was great to see Alastair Ralph have his biggest win under rules at Chepstow on Sunday. Bob Ford who I bought at the same time as Audacious plan won the 18k first prize, veteran chase. Alastair does most of the pre-training for us but is doing very well as a trainer in his own right.

Dr Richard Newland owns Bob Ford but trusted Alastair to get the horse back to his best. It was a fantastic piece of training by Alastair.

I’ll be sending Alastair a Value Racing Club horse when we secure something at the sales.
