Finally we have some much-needed rain, the dry spell for the past 2 months wasn’t ideal for this time of year, many horses up and the country were being held up. We needed some of the wet stuff for our runners, hopefully we can now get a few out in the next 10 days or so.

We had another good stable morning at the weekend when we went to see our mare Included who is trained by David Dennis. A good day was had and owners were taken for a free cooked breakfast afterwards.

The week before we were at Dr Newland’s, last week David Dennis and this coming Saturday the owners od Aldrin have their stable morning at David Pipe’s. I’m very much looking forward to seeing horses work at the famous Pond House stables.

Start of the York Dante meeting this afternoon, I’ve had a look through the cards but nothing really catches the eye. However, I do like Valadom in the 4:15 at Worcester.

Valadom was running very well in the Cross Country races from the front but just fails to see the trip out. He’s better over a fence but might get his own way in this and could easily make all. I’m sure he can win off 123 over hurdles, he’s mark is 10lbs higher over a fence. This looks a decent opportunity and i’ve had a few quid on at 7-4. Follow The Bear looks the obvious danger.

The Doncaster sales take place next week, Wednesday & Thursday. I’ve been working on the catalogue since Tuesday of last week and have identified some nice horses that could go under the radar. Plenty more homework is required between now and then but I hope we can secure a new horse for the Winter jumps season.

If you’re interested in proper horse racing ownership do get in touch.
