We had a super weekend in Ayr with Leoncavallo who ran in the Scottish Champion Hurdle. Leon finished 5th but was only ran out of the places in the last few strides and led the field until close to the final hurdle.

Leoncavallo deserved to be in the three but pulled early and this cost him a place. We’ll take the blinkers off next time and maybe head to Punchestown.

Excellent racing today, we have two runners at Cheltenham whilst it’s the second day of the Newmarket Craven meeting.

Roger Varian runs a nice horse today in the Wood Dittion at 2:25, UAE Jewel.

UAE Jewel has been working nicely and was impressive when having a racecourse gallop the other week. The yards horses have been just needing the run a little, but a nice effort is hoped for. Keep with him whatever the result today.

The Craven Stakes at 3:35 potentially has 2000 Guineas contenders taking their chance. The two Godolphin horses are both held in high regard. I’m just siding with Royal Marine who I know is working very well and didn’t handle the dirt in Meydan.

We head to Cheltenham with Broughtons Admiral & Pyromaniac. It’s great for owners having runners at Cheltenham and we’ll enjoy the day.

We’ll find out if Broughtons Admiral stays 3 miles. We’re throwing the horse in at the deep end, this is a very good race and likely a bit too good for BA. We might as well find out at Cheltenham if we stay 3 miles rather than doing the same thing at a smaller racecourse.

Pyromaniac is a bit of a learning curve, this is just his second start for us. The ground was no use for him in the Imperial Cup. Pyro will strip fitter today and we'll find out where we are.
