The third day of Cheltenham will likely be remembered by most for having empty wallets and the bookies taking the lot. There looked to be plenty of mistimed rides but one person that did get it right, was Gavin Sheehan.

Gav was brilliant on the Jamie Snowden trained, You Wear It Well who made every yard a winning one. It was a great result for the yard.

Thankfully we got a good priced winner. Angels Dawn in the lucky last at 10-1. This turned around what was going to be a troublesome day. Head is still above water moving into Gold Cup Day with bit of profit.

It’s not been an easy week, I’ll be staking to come out level at worst which is fine after betting four days at Cheltenham.

The Triumph Hurdle kicks off the final day of the festival. It’s hard to look beyond Lossiemouth and Bloody Destiny. Take your pick. The mares’ allowance swings me in the favour of Lossiemouth who should be unbeaten.

The lucky pin needs to come out for the County Hurdle at 2:10.

Sharjah is the class horse of the race and carries top weight because of this. It’s a drop-in class for this two-time Champion Hurdle runner-up. His ability should get him involved in the finish. 10-1 EW.

Aucunrisque looks overpriced at 25-1 based on Filey Bay who is the second favourite. Aucunrisque beat Filey Bay in the Betfair Hurdle and will likely bid to make all which worked yesterday in a couple of races.

They would be my two against the field, most bookies paying six places, Sky Bet go eight.

No bet for me in the Albert Bartlett but the top two in the betting are hard to oppose, Corbetts Cross & Three Card Brag.

Gold Cup time at 3:30.

Galopin Des Champs is standout, he’ll stay no bother at all and will take a lot of beating. I've backed him. With the form of the Henry De Bromhead horses this week, it would be no surprise to see A Plus Tard run a big race in a bid to defend his crown.

Looking for something to fill the frame at a big price, Sounds Russian should have beat Ahoy Senor last time. His jockey will be wiser today and keep hold of Sounds Russian a little longer priced at 33-1. Conflated is my other big priced EW choice at 18-1.

He’s a better Irish horse than some shorter in the betting, his odds are too big. Make sure you get the four places.

JP’s money could be down on Impervious in the Mares’ chase at 4:50, she’s been smashed up.

Allegorie De Vassy looks a class act, but jumps badly right handed which won’t help at Cheltenham. If Paul Townsend can keep her jumping together, she’d be the selection but I won’t be betting in the race unless have a few winners beforehand. The race looks a match up.

The last race of the Festival is the Martin Pipe and it’s not a great to try and get any losses back!

Imagine trained by Gordon Elliott is the final pick.

Campaigned over two miles only so far when it looked clear Imagine needs 2m4f which he gets today for the first time. This looks to have been the plan for a while but the same could be said about the yard’s other runner, Cool Survivor. 13-2 EW five places on Imagine.

If still needing a winner, Estidama 5:45 Newcastle has a good bit in hand I hear and makes the journey to Newcastle from Newmarket.
