The Gold Cup was epic what else can you say? Two horses going at it hammer and tong from the word go. Faultless jumping and jockeys giving everything they had. The race was all about two horses from the word go, nothing else got into it.

I got Mite Bite wrong but didn’t get Native River wrong. Native River outstayed his gallant rival to win the Gold Cup and land a tasty bet. I can’t remember a race I enjoyed watching so much for a very long time.

It was a great four days of racing, perhaps somewhat spoiled a little by the conditions. That’s nobodies fault though and we saw some classy horses over the week. Another Cheltenham has come and gone, we look forward to Aintree in 3 weeks’ time.

Today is another big day of racing. Uttoxeter hold their big fixture of the year, The Midlands Grand National. This race has the same prize money on offer as per the Supreme Hurdle. We have a runner in the race, West Of The Edge.

West Of The Edge finished a gallant 2^nd in the Eider Chase 3 weeks ago, he bumped into one that day it’s fair to say. This does come quick after the Eider but WOTE seems fine at home, although you never know until you run. Conditions will be ideal for our horse. If he’s fully recovered from Newcastle, he’ll give Will Kennedy a great spin.

It’s fantastic to be involved in such a prestigious Saturday race worth a lot of money. We’ll enjoy our day in front of the TV cameras whatever the result.
