Today is the start of the three day Cheltenham November meeting. Some great racing is on offer between now and Sunday.
The going is given as good, Cheltenham will have done a grand job with the watering. The lack of rain is becoming frustrating now, racecourses have dried up again this week and many have firm in the description. A few tracks in the north have more sensible ground after seeing rain. I dare say southern raiders will be travelling that way if the wet stuff doesn’t arrive and so will we.
The Novice Chase at 2:25 looks competitive, a few winners should come out of this race. White Moon & Mr Whipped are the two to beat the bookies think. I thought Jenkins priced at 8-1 might offer a little bit of value. He’s race fit, has chase experience, only one run but that’s one more than his rivals. He was also rated the highest over hurdles.
I’m not sure why Jenkins is a bigger price than the two mentioned horses, perhaps their exepcted to be better chasers than hurdles? No proper EW terms with just the seven runners, two places on offer only unless backing for a place. I've had a small interest.
