It’s been a busy week so far, back from the store sales in Ireland where we purchased three cracking horses with great breeding.

Today, two runners, Market Rasen and Chester where we are running for combined prize money of £111,000. It would certainly be nice to take some of that home.

Pisgah Pike runs first in the big Summer hurdle race of the year at 2:41.

Pisgah Pike is in good form, but doesn’t have much wiggle room on his handicap rating. Cirque Royal looks thrown in whilst the top three or four in the betting also look to have a few pounds in hand. Pike will enjoy the return to hurdles and should run his race. This has been the plan for some time.

Over at Chester in the 3:08, Sampers Seven takes her chance in the 66k five furlong sprint. Annoyingly, we’ve been dealt a bad hand with the draw, stall 11 of 11 which makes things near impossible.

The bend and short run for home will suit Sampers Seven, but it’s likely we’ll be in the car park on the turn for home and this will make things v hard indeed.

Two super races to be involved with though and a big day for all owners concerned.
