Mountain Rescue ran another solid race for us at Doncaster, finishing 4^th. He travelled well and held every chance two out where we tried to win the race and go with the very well handicapped Luca Cumani horse. Those excursions took its toll inside the last furlong and we lost a couple of places close home.

If we rode to finish 2^nd we would have been 2^nd but we bid to win every race we contest. Mountain Rescue hasn’t finished out of the prize money since we purchased the horse and is certainly paying his way.

We have an another runner today in Milrow, 1:45 at Market Rasen.

This meeting is Market Rasen’s feature of the year, big prize money is up for grabs and Channel 4 come live from the racecourse. It’s great to have a runner on this day as we won the Summer Hurdle “second race” on this card last year with Gran Maestro.

Milrow won in good style on hurdles debut, the form did look a bit suspect though and we weren’t sure what we beat. The 2^nd place horse has run again since, Itsamysterytome and fished 4^th. It looks like we didn’t beat much but you can only beat what’s in front of you.

Four Mile Beach and Recognition look our two main rivals this afternoon, each achieved ratings of 74 & 72 on the level so have ability and will stay the trip. Milrow has to give weight away with a winner’s penalty but hopefully our previous experience will help.

It’s a cracking day of racing at Market Rasen and great to have another runner on their feature day.
