Some amazing scenes at Cheltenham on Wednesday, Might Bite ran out a remarkable winner of the RSA after nearly gifting the race too Whisper. Might Bite hung badly right jumping the last and came to a near standstill. If it wasn’t for the loose horse that gave him something to aim at, Might Bite would have been done for. Nice De Boinville did fantastically well and dropped his head back in front on the line.

Neon Wolf was an unlucky loser of the Neptune, if it wasn’t for an awkward landing at the last he would have surely won and put the punters in clover. Douvan, was beaten after jumping 2 fences, something was surely amiss on the day.

Wednesday at the Festival is always very tricky for betting and so it proved with some big priced winners on the day.

On to Thursday.

The JLT starts the day, much as I would like to take Yorkhill on at the prices I can’t. The horse is fair from a natural over a fence and there could be some nervous moments in this race. I think he’ll get away with it though. Yorkhill is quite possibly in a different league to his rivals. I’ve backed Yorkhill to get Willie Mullins off the mark. 13-8 is available if you shop around.

Pertemps Final looks near impossible I won’t be playing.

The Ryanair Chase has one of my bets of the week running, Empire Of The Dirt. Advised at 5-1 on here last week, the Gordon Elliott horse is now the 11-4 joint favourite. I don’t like Un De Sceaux on today’s quicker ground and think he’s better over two miles, Uxizandre look the danger. I’m keen on Empire Of The Dirt and had a good EW bet on him at 5-1.

It’s very difficult oppose Unowwhatimeanharry in the World Hurdle. The horse keeps winning and only does enough, this would suggest there could be more left in the locker. At an EW price the 2015 winner Cole Harden could make the frames at 8-1. Cole Harden has got his ground and came right back to form last time out with a good 2nd behind todays jolly. Trainer Warren Greatrex reports the horse in grand form. I might do the forecast.

The top two in the Brown Advisory Plate hold the aces, I’m keen on Starchitect EW who looks very well handicapped. A small saver has been placed on Diamond king.

No real thoughts in the mares’ novice as Let’s Dance will be hard to beat.

The Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir will require a lot of luck in running. My lucky pin has fallen Venitien De Mai EW at 28-1.

You don’t have to look that far back to find some very good form. The month of March seems to be his time of the year, 3 runs 3 wins. It looks like a hurdle prep was the mission last time out, back over a fence today, Venitien De Mai looks worth a EW stab at huge odds. Two bookies are paying 5 places.
