The weather this week has messed up our running plans. An incredible amount of rain has fallen resulting in soft / heavy ground and plenty of fixtures lost. Over, 100mil of rain has been seen in places. This time last year, it was 30c and we were in the middle of a long heatwave! We have horses ready to run, but we’ll just have to wait until things dry up.
I’ve had a couple of bets today.
Firstly, in the 1:50 at York, Billy No Mates EW at a bigger price than he is now. The 7-1 still on offer is worth taking.
Billy No Mates handles soft ground and went into my tracker on seasonal debut, finished like a train. The horse is bred for a trip and the extra two furlongs today will be ideal. It’s a competitive ladies amateur race but I expect Billy No Mates to run a big race.
In the 3:35, Victory Day & Moraawed are both fancied to run good races. Victory Day is the least unexposed and could have a bit in hand. The short-priced horse of the day, Mekong who runs in the 3:00 has been well backed by the right people.
