Cheltenham Festival Day 4

A very good day from a betting point of view at Cheltenham on Thursday.

My Nap of the meeting and one decent bet, Grey Dawning got the job done. Those that watched our Cheltenham preview, heard me say it’s a two-horse race and Grey Dawning will win.

Teahupoo added to the funds and Whacker Clan gave us an EW return. A profit made on each day so far, with a good one from Grey Dawning, and that’s one of the reasons why I’m calling it quits.

The other reason, loads of rain has fallen. The going is now heavy, with further rain due. The ground will be very testing, and this might just make it bookies benefit day, which they need.

When the rain started last night, I backed Nassalam for the Gold Cup, 33-1 EW.

He’s not good enough to win on nice ground, but this year’s Gold Cup will be a real slog. Nassalam will pop out and bid to make all, he’ll stay every yard of the trip and could easily hold on for a place.

It seems plenty are now thinking the same, odds have halved into 16-1. Galopin Des Champs will take all the beating, as we know.
