Well it’s not very often a 109-1 winner is highlighted but that’s what happened on Saturday afternoon. I liked 3 horses in the Betfair Hurdle but couldn’t split them hence a reverse Tricast and Combination Forecasts recommended. Ballyandy, Movewiththetimes and Clyne were the 3 selections and amazingly they came home in that order.
Ballyandy & Movewiththetimes had the race between jumping the last, the winner was irrelevant as the forecast was already won. Clyne however was battling on for 3rd and held on to land the tricast. I dare say I’ll never back a bigger priced winner and was surprised by how much it paid.
Quite a few emails we’re received so well done if you played.
Native River topped off a great day, how he wasn’t the odds on favourite I have no idea. His SP price of 11-10 was a gift. He’ll take all the beating in the Gold Cup and I wouldn’t swap my antepost bet for anything else in the race.
Alitor was very impressive in the Game Spirit, with a clear round he’ll win the Arkle on the bridle. Apparently, he’s now rated higher by the handicapper than Sprinter Sacre was at the same stage of his career.
The weights for the Grand National were revealed last night. I put up One for Arthur after he did us a favour when winning at Warwick at the odds of 12-1 last month. He’ll get in the race no problem and must have a live chance. His odds have shrunk since but the 20-1 on offer still looks worth taking.
