The Paul Nicholls trained Southfield Theatre looks a very good chaser in the making, as highlighted on Saturdays news page I’d heard the horse had taken very well to fences and he didn’t disappoint. Southfield Theatre never saw another horse and won very easily under a front running ride form Sam Twiston Davies, don’t oppose him anytime soon he’s very well thought of.
We had no luck in the Cesarewitch with the two picks, Swnymor is not one to give up on though, the John Quinn trained horse came travelling well as anything two out but failed to see out the distance whilst his wide draw ensured he ran 15 lengths further than most. Swnymor can win a nice race when dropped back in trip and still looks nicely handicapped.
The weather has certainly changed very quickly, 35 mil of rain hit the midlands in the past 48 hours changing the going to soft / heavy at the majority of racecourses. Champion’s day that takes place this weekend looks set to be run on soft ground although the weather is supposed to be ok over the weekend.
Nothing has taken the eye so far this week, I’m not interested in backing anything on the flat in testing ground whilst still working out how far forward certain national hunt trainers are with their horses.
We’ve nearly completed our Newmarket horses in training sales shortlist. It’s now a case of watching race replays and finding out much info as we can about each horse before viewing them in a few weeks time.
A few places are still available, please get in touch if you would like any further info.
