Muhaarar won the big race of the weekend the Darley July Cup and added another big prize to his CV. It was a thrilling finish with the Charles Hills trained runner getting up in the final stride to deny Tropics.

Danzeno took another step forward and proved his a Group 1 horse in the making, held up in the rear by first time jockey Frankie Dettori, Danzeno showed a classy turn of foot to get in contention and finish just two lengths behind the winner in 5th place.

I stand by what I’ve said regarding Danzeno for long time and still think he’s going to win a massive pot at some stage. This lightly raced sprinter still looks green and is improving with each start.

With this excellent effort under his belt and with Frankie Dettori knowing the horse better for next time hopefully Danzeno can be ridden a bit more handy and his turn of foot can be used to put his head in front rather than get into contention.

Going forward Danzeno is entered in the six furlong Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock in September, I’ll go on record now and say Danzeno will run a massive race in this and go very close if allowed to take his chance.

I don’t do a huge amount of antepost betting and have no idea if the Sprint Cup is the plan but the odds of 25-1 look very good value in my eyes.
