We’re off to sunny Windsor this evening with Duke Of Destiny. So far this season Duke has yet to find his consistent form of the past few years that’s seen him win races and be placed more often than not. The horse might just be saving a bit for himself nowadays and becoming a bit wise.

However his handicap mark is coming down and he’s becoming fairly treated based on some of his old form. Were running over ten furlongs tonight in a bid to try something different, Duke should find the pace of the race fairly easy and hopefully jockey William Buick can kid him along and get him to go through with his effort.

The doubts and worries are twofold, firstly we’ve got a horrible draw in stall 1, we will need a huge amount of luck with 15 other runners taking their chance, just have to hope William Buick can find a bit of racing room in the home straight.

We’re not sure about the trip either, Duke Of Destiny has won over the shorter distance of seven furlongs but last time out over a mile he travelled well but stuck on at the same pace once asked for his effort. The horse now might need a stiffer test as per this evening or it’s quite possible a flat out stiff seven furlongs is his distance and finish strongly.

We’re just hoping for a half decent effort, it’s impossible to be confident due to the draw and if totally honest we have no idea about his stamina.

Plenty of members are making the journey so it will be a great start to the week either way, Monday nights at Windsor are great fun so and I’m sure we will have a super night.
