Mahsoob duly won yesterday at 3-1 under a very confident ride from Paul Hanagan, the horse looked to have little chance turning into the home straight and was well behind the leaders. However once the horse saw some daylight he took off and made up a huge amount of distance under a hands and heels ride to get up on the line.

Mahsoob is a group horse in the making and will need further, twice now he’s had to sit and suffer from horrible draws but on each occasion showed a tremendous attitude to win when everything has gone against him during the race, I think he’s a very smart prospect.

Muthmir is the horse to take out of the Duke Of York sprint, nothing in the race will beat him again especially if dropped to five furlongs. Trained by William Haggas Muthmir shot of the gates like a scolded cat and did too much in front, this was his seasonal reappearance so can be forgiven for been fresh, he’ll win a Group 1 before the season is out.

I’ve had one bet today in the 3:45, Fort Bastion EW at 10-1 before pricewise selected the horse. Fort Bastion is no stranger to us, I’ve selected him quite a few times and we’ve had some EW reward at big odds.

Now trained by David O’Meara Fort Bastion made his seasonal debut a few weeks ago but got no run at all, the horse was blocked every time jockey Sam James went for gap and finished 11th in the end but never came of the bridle.

Stable jockey Daniel Tudhope comes in for the ride today and with luck in running I think the partnership can go very close, still 13 isn’t great but not impossible.

The price of 8-1 can still be found, Paddy Power are paying 5 places.
