Ballyburn, Fact To File and mainly Langer Dan put a few more winners on the board yesterday. The first two weren’t hard to find but would have helped complete the treble if El Fabiolo had his jumping in order.

That result saved the bookies a lot more pain, and foiled many a doubles, trebles, and accumulators.

Moving on to day 3.

I backed, Grey Dawning a week or so ago at 7-2 for the Turners at 1:30. I’m still very happy with the bet and hopeful of a big run.

No thoughts on the Pertemps or the Ryanair, watching brief for me on those races.

The big race of the day is the Stayers Hurdle at 3:30. Teahupoo is a solid and worthy favourite.

I’ve tried to find something to take him on but keep coming back to him. Not given a good ride in this race last year whilst now aged just 7, he’ll be a stronger horse this time around and have younger legs than most of his rivals.

I'm with Teahupoo, whatever beats him would be the winner.

The Plate will be another watching brief, the oven might go on a bit earlier today!

I bet just two horses antepost at the festival, Grew Dawning as mentioned, the other is Brighterdaysahead in the Mares’ Novice at 4:50.

She’s the apple of Gordon Elliott’s eye and confidence seems to be very high.

If we need a winner going into the Kim Muir we could be in a spot of bother.

Whacker Clan EW at 8-1 is the pick. He looks to have been laid out for this. A pipe opener took place just 18 days ago over hurdles to put him spot on.

His last run over a fence saw him beat Twig by 3 lengths. Twig finished second on Tuesday in the Ultima. Shop around for the six places on offer.
