Second day of the Cheltenham November meeting, The Paddy Power Gold Cup is the feature race on the card.

Racing yesterday was ok, small fields, mainly due to the ground that’s still riding good. I have a feeling finding winners won’t be so easy and maybe horses that have been running through the Summer can’t be ruled out at big odds.

I’ve had a few bets based on the above, likelihood is they will be outclassed but we’ll see how they go.

Caramelised EW at 7-1 in the Triumph Hurdle Trial at 12:30. His last outing when disappointing at Market Rasen can be ignored, Caramelised was under the weather. Impressive in two previous runs, including when beating Addosh by 19l. Addosh today is shorter in the betting. A strongly run race will be right up Caramelised street.

Got to have a stab at the Paddy Power Gold Cup. Paint The Dream, Up The Straight and Lalor would be my picks, all EW.

Paint The Dream is the main selection. I think he can pop out and perhaps get some of these in trouble. Last time out win at Chepstow was very impressive, he’s perhaps been underestimated. 16-1 EW, and looks sure to give a good account. Up The Straight is overpriced and Lalor will be back to his best now with Paul Nicholls.

In the 3:25, Pyramid Place will love the step up in trip. He doesn’t have much to find and looks well handicapped. 12-1 EW.
