We were due to have just the one runner this week, Included was going to take her chance at Newton Abbot yesterday. Unfortunately, storm Callum put paid to that. The ground went from good to heavy within 24 hours.

I’m not sure if we’ll run Included again this year, she enjoys quick going whilst next race options are a few weeks away. We might school Included over a fence before sending her on holidays, she’ll be chasing next season.

It’s good to see the National Hunt racing moving up a gear, Chepstow hold their seasonal opener two-day fixture. The Persian War novice hurdle that takes place tomorrow is always a decent race.

The flat racing takes centre stage today, Newmarket is a cracking card. The Dewhurst & Cesarewitch would be the two feature races. Too Darn Hot is the even money favourite for the Dewhurst, he’s been mighty impressive in his three starts. Sangarius could give him most to think about but Too Darn Hot will take some beating.

For what its worth, Just In Time would be my pick in the Cesarewitch priced at 20-1. He’s improved all season and was unlucky not to beat Vis A Vis at Kempton, clipped heals. Vis A Vis is priced at 8-1 so Just In Time odds look a bit big. A couple of bookies are paying 8 places, do shop around.

The 2:30 at Chepstow is a race worth watching, the top three in the betting are held in some regard. Benny’s Bridge might be the value call at 4-1.
