The annual fixture at Laytown takes place this afternoon, the meeting is rather different to others as it takes place on the beach. The racing isn’t anything special but the fixture looks like good fun and is a meeting I would like to attend at some point.

English trainer Jamie Osborne sends over a big team and has a runner in every race. Of course the normal conspiracy theories have started with many reporting on social media it’s a planned coup etc. Personally I think it’s nonsense as how can you target a meeting that takes place on the beach? I’ve not read any reports of the trainer’s horses been seen working on Skegness beach in prep for this!

Saying that however, Snoozing Indian in the 4:05 and Room Key 5:35 look to have solid chances and Jamie should come away from Laytown with a winner or two.
