We have a runner this evening, Gran Maestro takes his chance in the 6:45 at Market Rasen.

Despite the small field tonight’s race is very competitive, Hammersly Lake, One For The Guv’nr and Rejaah are all well above average types.

Granny ran ok chase on debut in what was a very good novice, his jumping was fine but he was beaten someway from home. We think the performance was a mixture of first time over a fence and being a bit outclassed. It’s also possible Granny wasn’t at his best going into that race as the horse came out of it with a few niggles.

We beat Hammersly Lake in a photo Finish in the Summer Hurdle but getting plenty of weight. The Nicky Henderson horse has improved since then and is now a 145 rated hurdler but we meet on level weights this evening. The horse did fall on chase debut but no doubt Nicky Henderson will have had him well schooled since.

One For The Guv’nr was going well on his chase debut but also came down. He’s pretty much holds the same rating as Gran Maestro over hurdles so there shouldn’t huge amounts between them.

Rejaah is a very useful mare and gets plenty of weight off all the other runners, it’s her chase debut. If she takes to the job in hand Rejaah could lead everything a merry dance with the stone weight allowance.

It’s a good race that will take some winning, we're looking forward to it tough and Jess Glynne plays after racing so it’s a good meeting too have a runner at.

As for the rest of the days racing, not a huge amount caught the eye but I thought Leicester City at even money was a fair bet to beat Hull who are in disarry. They have one fit centre back and the same squad as per last season when in the Championship.
