First day of the York Dante meeting and I’ve had one bet, Mahsoob in the 2:10. This horse did us a favour when winning on seasonal debut a few weeks ago from an awful draw.

Stall 18 is no better today whilst it will take another excellent ride from Paul Hanagan but Mahsoob is highly rated and he could just be a Group horse in the making. With luck in running he should go close at 3-1.

As for rest of the racing I really like Ed Walker’s young sprinter Lightning Moon “3:15” who has recently been purchased by Godolphin. The horse might just need the outing though after his winter break and this race is very hot, whatever the result he’s one to follow the season.

Muthmir is the likely danger who looked highly progressive for William Haggas, he needs proper good ground though so keep an eye on what the jockeys say after the first couple of races.
