It’s the first day of the Cheltenham International meeting, the racing is ok and competitive but looks a lot better on Saturday. I’m amazed the going is given as good and would take that with a pinch of salt until the jockeys report back after the first race.

If Prestbury Park is riding decent then Starluck would have an EW chance at a nice price “13-2” in the 1:40.

The horse has been running better than his finishing positions suggest of late on ground that’s been too soft for him. Starluck carries top weight this afternoon, it won’t be easy giving weight away but he’s the best horse in the race and I hope his class might just get him in the first 3 providing the going is correct.

The Cross Country Chase is not everybody’s cup of tea but I enjoy watching it and it’s something different. The reliable Any Currency will run his normal game race and will be bang there at the finish if Aiden Coleman can keep the horse within 8 lengths of the leaders on the run for home, nothing will finish better.

The odds of 8-1 look a bit big EW, Any Currency should give you a solid run for your money at a workingmans's price.
