Bestiarius is a horse to wait for after his sound 2nd place yesterday. As highlighted on here, Bestiarius is well thought of and ran a lovely race, he was very green and looked in need of two miles four. If kept in the North and running in a novice over further, he’ll be a good thing to win next time out.
Speaking of the North that’s where we had today with West Of The Edge who runs at Wetherby. This will be WOTE debut for us after purchasing him at the Doncaster sales in May. It was important for us to have some proper winter horses that handle heavy ground, WOTE fits that bill nicely.
West Of The Edge is a dour stayer and can hopefully give us plenty of fun through the Winter months. For some crazy reason, he’s been put in as the 5-2 favourite and that’s just wrong. He’s working nicely but wouldn’t be fully fit and the trip of 3 miles might be on the sharp side, especially on ground that’s described as good to soft.
We’ll learn plenty about the horse this afternoon and just hope for a nice run.
