In hindsight I shouldn’t have put any selections on Saturday’s blog, the racing was very competitive and nothing really stood out.

We were a bit unlucky though not to collect the EW money with Foxtrot Romeo.

Ridden by Frankie Dettori the horse was just coming with his effort but got stopped at the furlong marker, beaten just 4 lengths in sixth position I’m fairly sure they would of grabbed a place with a clear run, he’s one to keep with.

Ardkilly Witness looked the winner for majority of the race in the Bet365 Gold Cup that was until stamina gave way just past 3 miles, this was the worry going into the race. Ardkilly Witness can win a big prize back over three miles.

We have Duke Of Destiny making his debut for Value Racing Club this afternoon, 2:15 at Nottingham.

Unfortunately the going has gone against the horse so we’re just hoping for a nice seasonal comeback run.

The Punchestown Festival kicks off today with some top class racing on offer. I hope Somersby gains a well deserved big race win for the late Terry Biddlecombe.

Somersby ran an outstanding race when 2nd in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham, the horse was given a more aggressive ride than normal with front running tactics employed.

A P McCoy takes over in the saddle this afternoon “5:30”. I hope the champ jockey is told to jump out and make all as per the Cheltenham run, if this happens and Somersby doesn’t find the flatter track a problem he should run well, 11-2 EW looks the call.
