Another profitable day for us at Cheltenham yesterday but a little frustrating at the same time.

We will never know but Champagne Fever not running in the Champion Chase due to injury looks a guilt edged opportunity missed, surely he would have gone very close. We pleasingly read the race spot on, Sire De Grugy & Sprinter Scare both flopped plus the suggested saver on Dodging Bullets did the business. With Somersby finishing a length 2nd. it's difficult to argue the race was sub standard and didn’t take a lot of winning.

Any Currency ran a blinder to finish 2nd for the second year running, he couldn’t be out of the 4 and was never worse than third position during the entire race. On the turn for home I thought we had it but his high weight just found the horse out jumping the last. EW money was rewarded whilst the 6-5 available on Betfair to be placed was like finding money in the street.

Of the two smaller bets, Souriyan ran a nice race beaten around 7 lengths but looks to need further whilst the bumper horse Wait For Me looks a lovely type, 3rd at at 12-1 for the EW money.

Day 3 of the Cheltenham Festival

Vautour can hopefully get the day off to a winning start for the all conquering Mullins & Walsh team. The horse looked to have a huge engine when winning the Supreme last year, despite a little blip at Leopardstown when he clearly wasn’t right Vautour still looks a classy type.

At times he hasn’t looked the most natural over a fence but if he does put it all together I’m hopeful he will have too many gears for his rivals. We’re not going to get rich backing at the price of 2-1 however with a clear round he can set the day up.

I’ve backed Ma Filleule in the Ryanair a few weeks ago and think she can battle this out with Don Cossack. The Nicky Henderson trained horse needed the run last time out whilst her her mares allowance is very handy. Spring looks to be her time of year whilst the quicker ground should be right up her street.

It’s surprising connections sublimated Foxrock as he surely won’t have the pace whilst Balder Succes hasn’t completed in 3 starts round Cheltenham. Ma Filleule EW at 11-2 looks a fair bet.

No real thoughts in the World Hurdle, it just a decent handicap this year any of six horses can win it.

Un Ace EW is the selection in the 4:00 for the reasons given last week, follow the below link:

The very best of luck to Rod Trow who is riding in the charity race, Rod is Dr Newland’s assistant and helped Value Racing Club on numerous occasions. I hope Bombadero gives Rod a great spin and a big thank you to everybody who donated.

If Ebony Express makes the County Hurdle no update will be done Friday, but couple of horses to look at, Pain Au Chocolat EW at 20-1 in the Triumph Hurdle whilst I think the Gold Cup is Silviniaco Conti race to lose, The Giant Bolster is overpriced as normal at 33-1.
