We have a runner at Leicester today. Mountain Rescue takes his chance in the 4:20, William Buick rides. Mountain Rescue would have a fair chance in this based on his best form, the problem is, so have the other 7 runners!

This is anybody’s race, a different result would likely happen if the race was run eight different times. The winner will be the horse that has luck in running and everything drops right on the day. Having William Buick back on top is a big plus, he’s won on Mountain Rescue twice before including at Newmarket earlier in the year. Mountain Rescue is in good form at home, so we’ll see how we go. Perfect Hustler could be the horse still on an upward curve, he’s maybe the one we all must beat.

Our Summer horses are coming to the end of the season now, it was a case of one race too many for Competition at Stratford. He still ran well enough giving 10lbs away and more to all horses but was flat. That was his seventh start of the season, Competition is now in the field until next year. Cotton Club isn’t in love with hurdling, he started off nicely and was unlucky bumping into two smart horses when second twice. He’s had enough, and we let him go yesterday for a decent price.

We have just the four horses on the go now, a couple of these will only have one more start. It’s been a very good Summer but we’re ready for the jumps season proper. Bring on the mud!
