Bishop Of Bling finished 3rd at Southwell on Monday but didn’t enjoy the experience, he hated the surface and didn’t face the kick back. Bishop wasn’t having any of it and sulked. Not much learnt bar not to run at Southwell again. He won a bit more prize money though and paid for the outing.

Off to Carlisle this evening with Trafalgar Rock who makes his seasonal reappearance in the 6:55. Sam Twiston Davies takes the ride.

Trafalgar Rock takes a huge amount of work to get near a race fit status, he’s built like a tank and would be the biggest horse in the yard. Whatever he does tonight he’ll tighten up for the run and be jumping fences sooner rather than later.

Despite just the 4 runners lining up “due to the ground” this race is a good little race and will take some winning. Cousin Oscar looks the one to beat whilst it will be lovely to see Gran Maestro again. This is his first run for new connections since we let the horse go. Gran Maestro was brilliant for us and won the Betfred Summer Hurdle a £30,000 race. That was a great day.
