A busy weekend for Value Racing Club, Bishop Of Bling runs today in the £40,000 Juvenile Hurdle at Doncaster, live on channel 4. Then tomorrow at Carlisle, West Of The Edge takes his chance.

We’ve had quite a few horses run in big races on a Saturday, it’s great for the owners and gives them a grand day out.

Bishop Of Bling is very much up against it, he’s the least experienced horse in the field with just 3 career starts so far. Archie as we call him did everything wrong on debut, failed to settle and ran green. He’ll have to do everything right this afternoon to run any type of race, we like the horse though but he's still learning his game.

West Of The Edge runs off a career high mark, he’s never won above a rating of 101, 113 on Sunday. The horse won for us on debut and we hope he’s improving under the care of Dr Newland. Sundays race is really competitive and will take some winning.

I’m looking forward to Doncaster this afternoon, great racing and some very smart horses are lining up. 0 0 Seven in the 2:40 isn’t backable at odds on but looks very good, he should take some beating.

I backed Valadom at Aintree last week over the National fences but he made an error very early in the race and was pulled up. He’s on a high mark now but should run his race at bog odds in the 12:55.

Over at Cheltenham I’ve taken a chance on The New One in the StanJames Hurdle at 3:00. My Tent Or Yours ran ok on seasonal debut, the heavy ground was likely against him. On ratings two horses can win this, I think The New One odds should be a little closure to My Tent Or Yours and 100-30 looks a fair price.
