A P McCoy won the legends race on the first day of the Doncaster St Leger meeting, the great man is still hurting the bookies even in retirement. The 20 time champion jockey was persuaded to take one last ride by Jack Berry and help raise money for the injured jockey’s fund.
A P riding Gannicus for trainer Brendan Powell was never headed whilst his race saddle was sold for £15,000 in the charity auction. When interviewed afterwards McCoy said this was a one off and that’s it, we'll watch wait and see.
I’ve had one bet today although the odds are very much on the small side for a 20 runner race. However, Nemoralia could be thrown in off a mark of 87 in the 1:55 and hopefully she will prove to be Group class come 2pm.
Her win at Kempton last time out was very striking whilst trainer Jeremy Noseda has already entered her in two Group 1 races. I hope she proves to be very classy and I know connections think she’s very good indeed. We’re not going to get rich backing a 15-8 shot but I can’t see much else worth supporting this afternoon.
