We’ve had no runners this week with the National Hunt racing taking a break. Work doesn’t come to a halt though as the Goffs, Doncaster sales took place on Wednesday. We pleasingly secured the horse we wanted at the sale, Hugo ‘N Taz.
I was very close to buying this horse last year in a private deal, but we couldn’t quite get it over the line. Hugo ‘N Taz is a long-distance staying chaser. He can run in some lovely races with nice prize money on offer. His effort in the Cork National behind the likes of Out Sam & Rogue Angel reads very well.
We’ll target these types of races in the UK with Hugo ‘N Taz who is a big horse standing at 17h. He’s a lovely addition to our winter team.
It’s Shergar Cup day at Ascot, not a meeting I like, and I’ll be giving it a wide birth. Looking at the rest of the fixtures, it’s not a vintage day of racing. Throw in plenty of soft ground and very high winds, I’m passing on the racing this afternoon.
