The Old Newton Cup at Haydock yesterday was run at a hack canter. It turned into a two furlong sprint for home. The front runners / handy ridden horses were the only ones that had a chance. Frustrating for such a good race they went no gallop.

Market Rasen and Chelmsford for us this afternoon.

Nastasiya steps up in trip by four furlongs in a good race for the grade. If she stays and can repeat her Hexham effort, hopefully this will see her there or thereabouts.

Cornicello makes his chasing debut, he's now back down to a rating he's won off before but would need to do everything spot on first time over a fence against horses with experience.

Finally, at Chelmsford, Hezahunk has his second run back after time off. He ran well at Southwell but got tired which was expected, he'll improve again for this run, the drop in trip will help.
