Seven Heavens continued Frankel’s excellent start to his stud career when taking the maiden at Ascot yesterday. As mentioned in the blog post, this race should work out well and its worth keeping an eye on.

If I could have taken a horse home for keeps, it would have been Lockheed who finished 2nd. Long term I think he could turn out better than Seven Heavens.

Lockheed had to race away from the main pack and could have done with something upsides him in the final furlong. This good looking grey was gaining all the time but couldn’t quite reach the winner, he looks a certainty to win next time out and could be pretty decent.

Loads of good racing today, the ground could change though as plenty of the wet stuff is forecast.

As normal I’ve had my EW bet on Danzeno in the 4:35 at Newmarket, The July Cup. Priced at 25-1 he’ll give you’re a run for your money. One of these days it will drop right for this horse and he’ll bag a Group 1.

Battered is another William Haggas 2yo held in some regard, he makes his debut in the 1:55 at York. The horse will have to run to a smart level of form to win this on debut but he’s worth putting in the notebook and will be winning soon if not today.
