We were fairly happy with Dino Mite’s debut at Aintree on Saturday, making her debut in a Listed race was a big ask whilst the young filly ran very green plus dwelt / spooked at the start losing distance on the other runners. Dino jumped out to her right losing a few lengths at each hurdle but travelled nicely in between flights showing good pace. She managed to pick up the main pack near the home turn and worked her way into 4th position but had run further than anything else by this point and used up vital energy getting there.

Jockey Conor Shoemark rightly gave her an easy time when it was clear we couldn’t be in the 3 but we finished 6th and that was the plan at the start of the day to try and finish in the prize money.

Dodging Bullets won the Tingle Creek for champion trainer Paul Nicholls, the horse was given a great ride by Sam Twiston Davies who is settling in to his new role very well.

With doubts of Sprinter Sacre & Sire De Grugy it’s quite possible Dodging Bullets could be a player in the Champion Chase. Somersby ran a cracker to finish 2nd, the 10yo has a been a fantastic servant,  I hope he can pick up another win at some point.
