Today would have seen the Shergar Cup meeting take place at Ascot. This fixture was called off sometime ago though due to the Covid virus. However, it’s not all bad news. Ascot has put on a normal meeting that’s far superior to the awful Shergar Cup day!

Haydock and Newmarket also host good meetings, we’re off to Uttoxeter this evening with a runner.

The 1:40 at Newmaket is worth a look for future reference. Looktotherainbow & Arion Fox are both above average I hear and will be winning races.

Over at Haydock, Global Giant has done nothing but improve since switching to John Gosden. His odds have tumbled since published earlier in the week. Global Giant should run another big race but is a bit short now.

Present Chief bumped into one last time out and goes again in the 8:30 at Uttoxeter.

A step up in trip this evening would be the slight concern but repeat of his previous effort should see Present Chief take a bit of beating providing he gets home. This looks an easier race.

Our runner is, Yes No Maybe So in the 6:00.

Yes No Maybe So won on debut for us 16 days ago. The win came as bit of a surprise as we thought the trip would be on the sharp side for him. Jonathan Burke who rides again tonight, gave him a super ride, kicking on early won the race.

The trip will suit this evening, but this is a huge raise in class. Yes No Maybe So, takes his chance as there’s nothing else for him until the end of the month. He get’s a lot of weight from his rivals but is taking on far superior horses on ratings. A decent pot is up for grabs so it’s worth a go.
