Four runners today, which is a first. From memory, we’ve had three runners once, but never four. To be honest I would have preferred not for it to happen as I can’t see all the horses run in person.

Black Anthem is first up in the 1:25 at Southwell. Black Anthem is still a good chunk above his last winning rating and although working well, he might need help from the handicapper.

Awesomedude goes next. 2:35 Southwell. Dude ran well on hurdling debut, Southwell should suit and he’s in good form.

Now into the evening at Wetherby, 7:35 Nikolayeva. Eva runs again quickly as this race cut up. She’s got to carry a lot of weight but is one of the few horses that’s guaranteed to stay the trip.

Tinsmith in the last, this looks very competitive. A big field apprentice jockeys race, luck will be required in running. Tinny has to prove he’s ok on turf, if handling fast ground, he’ll gallop to the line.
