Good racing this afternoon with Newmarket and York both holding decent meetings whilst Newton Abbot have put up some really good prize money and been rewarded with some smart jump horses making their seasonal debuts.

I’ll be watching Poet’s Vanity who takes her chance in the 2:05 at Newmarket. Trained by Andrew Balding this young filly made a real impression when making all last time out, hacked up by ten lengths. It’s difficult to say how good that form was but visually the performance looked very good indeed.

Poet’s Vanity takes a huge step up in class today but she could be up to it, her price of 6-1 looks ok in what looks a very good race. I know the stable hold her in high regard.

There will be no blog update tomorrow as we’re at Dr Newlands yard with the owners of Greyed A and West Of The Edge.
