Kingsmere is a horse that’s done us a few favours in the past and runs today in the 2:30 at Ludlow priced at 5-1. I’m pleased he’s back over hurdles whilst on his best form the Henry Daly trained runner has more than enough ability to win this race.

The going is a worry though as Kingsmere likes a sounder surface, 3 miles on soft ground round Ludlow will take a bit of getting this afternoon. With just 7 runners we have no proper EW terms so it’s hard to recommend a bet but I wouldn’t be surprised if Kingsmere went well.

If he doesn’t run a race do keep with Kingsmere when seen on a sounder surface over hurdles, he’s more than capable of winning off his current rating.

The racing is always a little slow at the start of the year with no real feature meetings but we do have Cheltenham trials day on the horizon, it's then countdown to the best week of the year in March.
