It was a good day for the blog on Saturday with the two horses mentioned both winning, Hathal who was laid out to win after a break at 11-2 and Quite Reflection winning the Group 1 sprint at 7-2.

Milrow ran a sound race for us at Fontwell and finished where we expected 3rd. The heavy rain that came down Saturday night and extended two miles two furlong’s ruled out a winning chance but Milrow boxed on and simply got outstayed up the hill.

We have another runner today where Trafalgar Rock takes his chance in the 3:40 at Worcester. Sam Twiston Davies rides.

Trafalgar Rock runs over 3 miles for the first time, running over this disatnce is bit of a fact finding mission a we don’t know if our horse will stay. Nelson as we call him won over two miles on the level so that gives him a chance of getting 3 miles but you can’t say for sure he will.

Trafalgar Rock carries a double winner’s penalty this afternoon and this results in him being wrong at the weights with every horse in the race. Robert’s Star is the form horse to beat, however Vintage Vinnie could be the one.

He achieved a rating of 140 over a fence but is still a novice over hurdles. Trained by Rebecca Curtis Vintage Vinnie is very good on his day. If back to his best everything else faces an impossible task, Nelson also has to give him the best part of 19lb just to make things a bit more difficult!!! 8-1 into 5-4 in places soon as the betting opened, it seems Vintage Vinnie is somewhat expected.

It’s very much a learning curve for us.
