Shares are now available in our new horse, or I should say filly called Dino Mite she’s a 3yo bay by Compose, her 2nd dam is Totality, a full sister to the English & Irish Derby winner Commander in Chief. Dino Mite is bred in the purple and will hold good value as a broodmare in the coming years but more on that shortly.
Dino Mite’s mum “Compose” also had Cockney Sparrow, who is one of the best mare’s in training over jumps at this moment in time, she’s rated 154, won the Scottish Champion Hurdle, The olgb.com mare’s hurdle whilst was placed in the Fighting Fifth, her prize money so far totals over £133,000.
Our new filly is a half sister to Cockney Sparrow.
Because of Dino Mite’s breeding and mainly due to being a half sister to Cockney Sparrow it doesn’t matter what she does on the track she will always hold good value as a broodmare in later years. If we can get some black type “ 1st three in a Listed race” into Dyno Mite she would fetch 30k plus once her racing days are over for breeding, even if that doesn’t happen a fee of 20K would easily be reached for winning over hurdles.
I would hope and with luck her value would increase significantly in the years to come whilst she might prove to be a good investment for further down the line.
Our new filly has ran 4 times so far on the flat, on debut she was give an easy time but second time out she won her maiden by 18 lengths hard held in a hack canter over a trip of one mile four. It was an extremely impressive performance whilst the form was boosted when the 2nd placed horse won next time out, by 6 lengths.
Dino Mite was given a flat rating of 80 after just her 2nd run, she looks very classy.
For whatever reason Dino Mite was then stepped up in trip to one mile six on her next two starts, asking a young still growing filly to run over this distance was not wise, doing it twice in a short space of time is questionable.
On both occasions at Nottingham & Wolverhampton, Dino Mite looked to have her rivals in trouble at one mile three, everything was off the bridle and been shoved along but her stamina gave way, going into the final two furlongs.
We worked with bloodstock agent Tom Malone who thinks Dino Mite slipped under the radar and is a great buy as her purchase price will come back at some point at the very worst.
If she came to the sales after her 18 length win she would be fetching 40k plus based on what horses were going for at the sale. Her sister Cockney Sparrow was also purchased off the flat from the same yard “Peter Chapple Hyam”, for 35k when rated 78 on the flat, Dino Mite’s flat form is 2lb higher and we paid 17.5k for her.
If Dino Mite proves to be half as good as Cockney Sparrow she’s going to be a lot of fun in the coming years, everything is there in her breeding whilst she’s already proven she’s clearly smart with a high rating of 80 on the flat.
Dino Mite will go into training with Jamie Snowden in Lambourn.
Having a 3yo mare in training is exciting, we have so many options open and can ensure everything is done the right way. Being so young is also great, I would hope Dyno Mite can give us plenty of fun for many years to come.
25 shares available at £1750 each.
The price covers your part of the purchase “you own part of her” plus all other training and running costs until April 30th with nothing else to pay. Come May 1st 2015 training fees will be required for that year.
