We were pleased with Gran Maestro’s debut effort over a fence, a fair 3rd in what was a warm novice chase. Considering Granny was brought down 14 days prior in a horrible incident, he jumped really well and put in some flying leaps down the back. It was a good pipe opener and GM will have learnt plenty for the outing.

Last month we sponsored up and coming conditional jockey Charlie Hammond who works for Dr Newland. Charlie rode Sioux Chieftain to victory for us. The sponsorship went live on July 1st.

Last night at Uttoxeter, Charlie rode Hassle to victory carrying the Value Racing Club logo and website on his breeches and vest. Charlie gave Hassle a very accomplished ride, he’s a good young lad that’s working very hard. When given the ammo Charlie gets the job done and has a knack of getting horse to travel and jump nicely for him. We’re really looking forward to supporting Charlie during the next 12 months in whatever way we can.

Rowlestonerendezvu in the 3:40 at Yarmouth is worth keeping an eye on. I have a feeling this horse is far better than we’ve seen and he caught my eye last time out. Paul Hanagan has been booked on handicap debut. Currently priced at 5-1, it could be significant if the money arrives. Rowlestonerendezvu will be winning soon if not today, keep with the horse.
