Harzand as highlighted on here won the Epsom Derby, the win ensured both the Oaks and the Derby went the way of the Irish. His trainer Dermot Weld was winning the Derby for the first time as was his jockey Pat Smullen. Mr Weld did a great job in not running Harzand again after his previous win and allowed the horse to take some time out and grow. I’m not sure I’ll be backing him in the Irish equivalent as some cut in the ground looks vital for this son of See The Stars
It was a good couple of days on the blog with Minding, Harzand and Postponed all winning. I couldn’t see anything getting near Postponed and they didn’t, there was never a moments worry. The even money available during the day was very generous as it was on Minding the day before.
