The Aintree Grand National meeting starts tomorrow, 3 great days of racing and a more relaxed meeting than Cheltenham.
This year’s fixture looks better than ever, Mr Mullins is sending over many of his star horses in a bid to win the British trainers title. The likes of Annie Power, Vautour, Douvan, Djakadam, Limini & Yorkhill are all set to run. I think the trainers title will come down to the Grand National where Paul Nicholls & Mr Mullins could have ten runners between them.
As for the Gran National I’ve backed Many Clouds, Goonyella, The Druids Nephew & Saint Are. Not original selections but I would be surprised if one of the above doesn’t go close to winning. Last years winner Many Clouds is hard to get away from, he’s only a 1lb higher and is coming into the race in great form.
There won’t be any further updates until Saturday as I’m heading to Aintree tomorrow.
I think Cue Card will gain compensation for his Gold Cup fall in the Betfred Bowl, Annie Power at 4-7 looks like buying money if that’s your thing as does Vautour later in the week. Treble?
