A super day of sport, the Cricket is on, Six Nations starts today and brilliant racing at Sandown and Leopardstown. The Dublin racing fixture is like a mini–Cheltenham Festival, top class racing where bubbles will be burst and others cementing their chances.
I’m very much looking forward to watching Chacun Pour Soi at Leopardstown in the 1:35. I think he takes the beating in the Champion Chase as things stand.
Honeysuckle puts her unbeaten record on the line in the Irish Champion Hurdle. The mares’ allowance she gets will come in very handy on such ground. Sharjah looks the danger, but he might prefer a sounder surface. Honeysuckle would be my pick at odds of 6-4.
Up at Musselburgh the Edinburgh National will take some getting. Saint Xavier could be the type to enjoy this marathon slog. Saint Xavier holds a Grand National entry and would need to be going very close in this to make the Aintree line up. 8-1 EW.
Finally, at Sandown, I like Hitman in the 1:50. There should be more to come from him.
